Star2Pros Starcraft 2 Guide Review – Is This Any Good Or A Scam? Star2Pros SC2 Strategy Compared with Shokz & Joanas

We reviewed Star2pros Starcraft 2 Guide. For a brief background of this guide, I actually have seen this early, before joanas guide was released. This is one of the early sc2 guide released I’ve seen. This is created by Wesley Graber, but I am not sure if he is a diamond player, or whatever. Probably he is involved even before sc2 release, in beta.
;
Now is Star2Pros Starcraft2 Guide Really Worth It? Is It Good? If you are looking for a straightforward review of star2pros, what I can say is, “I Would not recommend it”. Well, that’s just my opinion, and I am open to contradictions. :) I’m not questioning Wesley Graber’s SC2 skills(being diamond and played longer with sc2, probably he will beat me in heads-up game), but on the way how this star2pros guide provides info. If you want to know how I came up to this conclusion, then do read below.
;
Quoted from his website, “the World’s Most Advanced Starcraft 2 Training Course”, it offers :
  • Zerg advanced strategies for 1v1 and 2v2 games
  • Protoss advanced strategies for 1v1 and 2v2 games
  • Terran advanced strategies for 1v1 and 2v2 games
  • Advanced micro and macro tactics used by the pros
  • How to defend against any type of rush or cheese attack
  • Complete unit counter guide, you will always know how to counter any type of unit
  • Advanced economics and expansion tactics
  • Perfected build orders for all 3 races including 2v2 games
  • How to defeat the strategies being using on the top diamond ladders of battlenet
  • Exploit the weaknesses of all the races
  • Advanced harassment tactics that leave your opponent open for destruction
  • This is just the tip of the iceberg, we are tirelessly researching any new tactic or strategy

Now FIRST, I purchased the star2pros guide. Seamless transaction of course, a digital product, so no need to wait. You’ll gain access to star2pros members area as soon as you purchase. But after my purchase, I didn’t go through over the sales letter, so after purchase, I was prompted to register to star2pros member’s area, and there it was… “I will be charged $27 monthly!”

Probably my fault, I didn’t go through some of the fine print… haha… You can see below, price is $27. See the section I numbered below in red, #1 & 2. I Thought this was a one-time fee, but on #3. there it is, a monthly subsciption of $27. Well if this has recurring charge, then I expect this to have very good to great quality in it’s strategies, community, easy-to-read guide, and more.

Now I register my email above to be able to go to the star2pros members area. After registering, I then instantly received my password in my email, and I hurriedly logged-in to star2pros area, and curious to what’s inside. Inside the member’s area, I scratched my head. See the member’s area welcome screen.

What the heck. By the way, current date today(current date of this star2pros review) is august 3, 2010.  7 days after sc2 release, and still, somewhat of a blank page on welcome screen? I was expecting something more. More graphics might help, what are the new updates, etc. This actually seems like this has not been updated even before July 27th. “We are excited about the release of Starcraft 2 on July 27th….” -> This seems like the writer is still looking forward to the sc2 release, still prior to the release date. Anyways, that’s just my thought.

star2pros-guide-review-sections

star2pros-guide-review-sections

Star2Pros Sections consists of these 3 :

  • Zerg 1v1 Guides
  • Protoss 1v1 Guides
  • Terran 1v1 Guides

What I can further say is, it’s unorganized.  No clear organization of strategies, of build orders, of some other general guides/tips, videos, and more. E.g., on zerg 1v1 guide, it talks about beating protoss. Then next to it, beating terran, then next, back to against protoss again. I’ve already gone through shokz & joanas, and it’s much much more organized(sections organized like general guides, each race’s units strategy/description/infos, each race’s strategies).

And oh, still on organization of the strategies, doing a quick browse, I found some 1v1 strategies, requiring to have a partner(so probably for 2v2??). On 1v1 section, it has => “What you Need : A Terran on the other team…. A Zerg(Preferred) or terran partner that will scout for you”. This definitely does not belong here. Proceeding with more browsing of star2pros strategies :

Now this is just my opinion, but I can’t find some pictures to help out those newbies to sc2. My top guides reviewed have pictures, so why not this? Pictures do help in making it reader-friendly. So from what I can see, this is geared up for Advanced Players only, and not for noobs. Next, the replays :

Going through the vidoes/replays, I still am confused, questioning myself, “what does this video show? what strategy is used here? Should I just watch the video, and browse on which strategy it shows?” This clearly has no description. I didn’t want to go through, issued a quick refund.

So my conclusion : I Do Not Recommend Star2Pros. I won’t be offering this guide, and I won’t be offering my bonus/es for star2pros. Browse through my top recommended guides in the left section(sidebar) of this site.
