Shokz Effective Terran Counter vs Interceptors – Starcraft 2 Strategies Guide on How to Stop Interceptor

In every game that we play needs a strategy to be able to win and gain control over your opponent. It is very important to know each and every unit and building being used by your opponent. Its usage, weak point, advantages and disadvantages. That is why, part of this article, I’ve discussed what are the specifics for the Protoss unit, Interceptors to be able to know how to bring down such unit.

;

First off, Interceptors, which are created by carriers for both defense and offense purposes. Carriers don’t have the ability to fight back. So, they use Interceptors. Each Carrier can have eight interceptors only. They use Interceptor Beams as their weapon. It has an attack damage of 5 but with an additional of + for every weapon level upgrade. It can attack on both Ground and in the air with a range of 2 and with a speed of 3 which is very slow. There are upgrades available which are Air Weapons which requires Cybernetics Core for level 1 upgrade and Fleet Beacon on the second level upgrade. In addition to this, air weapon upgrade also upgrades motherships, phoenix, and void ray. Air weapons are used increase attack damage for air units of Protoss. Secondly, Air armor Upgrade can increase armor defense. It needs the same requirement for both level 1 and level 2 upgrade with Air Weapon. Last but not the least, Protoss uses this to increase defense system on their shields and buildings and this is called Plasma Shields. It requires a Forge for level 1 upgrade and a Twilight Council for the second level.

Interceptors are attached to Carriers and they literally do the fighting for their Carriers. These Interceptors can be commanded to attack up to a certain distance from the Carriers. To counter the Protoss Interceptors and avoid causing heavy damage to Terran units, there are actually a number of ways. A common strategy is to prioritize the use of Vikings. This is commonly regarded as the the top choice in countering Carrier units with their load of Interceptors which can be really be an annoying unit to fight against. Capable of inflicting 28 damage per round of attack against armored units coupled with their superior speed, Vikings are hands down, the number one option. Second best would be Thors, which are known for their range capabilities and their capacity to cause heavy damage against air units. Although they come second, Thors will still be levels below the capacity to inflict damage as compared to Vikings. Third in line would be the Marines. Although they are not so great and of course not what you would normally want to pit against carriers, they can still stand their ground and if they have the advantage in numbers, they can be relied on to face seemingly insurmountable odds. Obviously, they are not considered as the first line of defense for nothing.

;

It is very important to be very knowledgeable with the character you are playing and to know the weakness and strengths of your enemy for you to be able to win the battle. Again, always be on guard as well and never leave your base unguarded. You will never know what your opponent is up to.
