In every game that you play, you must have a strategy in mind for you to win. Without a strategy , you will never know what to do for you to be able to counter your opponent. If you are sending out a unit which is weak against your opponent’s unit, then you will surely lose the game. One of Terran strategies is called the Terran Starport Rush. First let me give you an overview on what Starport is.

Starport is the only source of Terran Race to be able to produce real flying units. Starport in starcraft 2 produces new Terran Exclusive units such as the Banshee, Medivac, Raven and the Viking. The Battlecruise is still build through the Starport in sc2. For you to be able to build Starport you will need at least 150 Minerals and 100 Gas. You will also need a Factory first before you will be able to start producing starports and of course you will need an SCV to build it. Lift off is the Starport’s special abilities. It allows it to fly at slow speed. Here is an interesting thing about Starports ability in producing aircraft units. Starport has the ability to produce double units with a Reactor add on which is attached to it, or for high tech units with the help of a Tech Lab. If you don’t use either of the two, you will only be able to produce low tech units and and the production will also be slow since it will only allow you to build one unit at a time. Upgrade is also an important thing. This is to strengthen any of your skills. Starport has the Building Armor upgrade which upgrades its armor, literally. For you to be able to upgrade your starport, you will need 150 Minerals and Gas. You will need to research this first using the Engineering Bay before you will be able to make use of the Upgrade.

Now, let us talk about the Starport Rush Strategy. This strategy is somewhat related to the Terran Banshee Attack Strategy. You will know why when you get to read further. The main goal and objective is to be able to produce as many banshees as possible. It takes 5 minutes to be able to produce 1 banshee. So here is the building order for you to be able to do this tactic. First is to get 9 supplies by building SCVs. Then, as soon as you get the 9 supplies, build a refinery immediately. Once you have started building the refinery, build another SCV again. When the building of your refinery completes, immediately have 3 SCVs on it. Then use one of it to do the scouting, if you happen to be in a map with 4 possible starting points. You will need to know your opponent’s location first before they get to know your location. Then build a barracks and another SCV. You should have a total of 11 SCVs. 3 SCVs working on Gas and 8 on your minerals. When the barracks finishes, factory should be then constructed immediately. When it finishes, you need to start a tech lab and then start building Starport. While the Starport is in progress, work on building a supply depot. When the Supply Depot finishes. As the starport finishes, lift it off and then have it switch places with your Factory. Through this you will be able to get a tech lab on your starport instantly. Start building Banshees and ready for the ultimate attack on your opponent’s base. Once you have sent out your first batch, work on building your second batch and send them right away. This is a strategy that is difficult to counter. So if you just keep sending in banshees to your enemy’s base, then the game ends there.
