Unlike Protoss and Terran, Zerg does not uses technology to run its base but uses living structures which are mutated.

The mining Zerg trick using both Nydus worm and Nydus network is pretty neat. All you need to do is have the Nydus network right by the main hatchery. Set the rally point to the mineral point, then to the hive. It will tell where to go and where to go back. All the drones unload from where the Nydus worm is and gathers minerals and goes back inside the Nydus worm again and unloaded by the Network. If your macro is really good, this will be a neat trick for you to be able to mine anywhere on the map. Just make sure to put your Nydus worm by the minerals and have your Nydus network in the main hatchery. Basically, hot key your worm and network with 3 and 4. You will need to push D every 16 seconds.

Going back, Some players love using Nydus Worms. It gives them a great feeling in game, Imagine that the Nydus worm can just pop up on any location of the map and once again, it does not need the creep. Though, It wont be able to pop up in the unexplored locations of the map. So,me players uses this to their advantage to be able to mine anywhere of the map.
