Common Terran Strategies vs Protoss in SC2 – Shokz Starcraft 2 Terran Strategy Guide to Beat Protoss

In this article, I will be talking about Terran strategies in battling against a Protoss player. I should say that Terran and Protoss match up is quite difficult. So,  you will need every advantage that you can get especially a Protoss player has a lot of ways to be able to do an early base attack and one of the ways is through their warp capabilities and is one of their greatest advantages. Here are some strategies that are very effective for you to survive in the game.

There are a lot of options available and strategies for Terran Players. One of the most basic Terran strategy is called Forcing Units. Terran has a lot of units that you can take advantage of against your opponent and you just have to know how to use this to be able to let your enemy get into building a certain unit that you can easily counter attack. With this strategic game, obviously, you will need to have a strategy on how to gain control of the game. I would suggest to always be on the offensive side. You need to force your enemy in doing counter attacks on your units. For you to be able take advantage of this, use an early force to attack and the goal here to have your opponent on defense mode. You may start with having a Marauder. Usually, Protoss players will automatically get stalkers to avoid early Reaper attacks. Even if the Marauder push won’t be successful, your enemy will still find ways to be able to counter your marauders and leading him to get zealots as well as immortals since these are the only units best in killing marauders. After your first charge, you need a Marine and Hellion force. Next thing you have to do is annihilate your opponent’s army since they won’t have enough stalkers and only have a few immortals plus a few remaining light units which will be no match for the opponent’s attacking force.
;
There is also what we called the Factory Drop Tactic. This is a strategy for Terran players who wants to bring down opponent’s mineral line and beat down his economy. Firstly, build a Factory close enough to your enemy’s base and discreetly move it at the back of his base where it’s unseen. Nextly, build a few hellions and start killing off his mineral line workers right away. This would work best with the maps that you and your opponent are in close positions like the maps of Metalopolos, Lost Temple, Scrap Station, etc. Just a tip, make sure that when you move your Factory behind your opponent’s base, it is unseen especially with xel’naga watch towers and away from scouting lines as well. I would suggest in putting a wall on your base since you will be doing an early defense for you to be able to do an early attack on your opponent. Build your base like normal with barracks and when you have reached 100 gas, send out your SCV for you to start the factory. After this, have a bunker to hold off early attacks. You will need to set up some defense for security purposes. Make sure that from time to time you are scouting your opponent especially where his buildings are positioned. When you factory is done, lift it off and move it to his base. Place it in a spot close enough but is not to be seen. As it lands, build hellions right away at least three before you finally reveal your location. Three hellions are the best number to have, this will kill any unit they send out to you. If you are just able to defend your base, you will surely win this game.

There are a lot of strategies that a Terran player can use to win against a Protoss player. The strategies mentioned above are the most commonly used. The most important thing in playing a strategic game like this is to be able to build fast, strong defense side and be able to quickly annihilate your opponent before they take you out.
