Effective Zerg Baneling & Roach Rush against Terran – Shokz Banelings with Roaches Combo in ZvT

Strategies play a great role in the every game to win. Without strategies it will be like playing the game with no equipments on hand for battle. It is totally useless in playing the game without thinking of strategies. it will become more stronger for you to win when you do combos. I will be talking about zerg combo units again terran. Specifically, banelings and roaches. Firstly, let us get to know more on each units.

Banelings are considered to be highly dangerous and destructive units. It carries a liquid like bag full of chemicals that is ready to explode. It reacts on when an enemy unit or building is near, detonates by command or even if it is killed. So you don’t have a choice when you see banelings. Even if you stay away from them, it will still be commanded to go to the nearest unit or structure to detonate. You will be able to morph zerglings into banelings. It will cost you 25 gas and minerals and would take around 20 seconds. Banelings are good to use against buildings and light units since it causes high damage bonuses when combined with splash damage. Imagine a group of banelings commanded to destroy a hostile army or a certain part of a base. It will be massive. You can send other units to clean up the remaining units that have survived the explosion. Though destructive, banelings have low defenses but there are ways for it to be able to survive the battle.

Make use of burrow upgrade. This would enable the banelings to hide underground and can be used as a trap. When your enemy’s army passes through the line where banelings are hidden, you can detonate them while burrowed to be able to have a massive destruction.

Burrow is the ability of most zerg units to be invisible and reveal itself by detectors and may not attack or move in its position. The exceptions are the roaches who are able to move even when burrowed, as well as the infestor.

Centrifugal hooks is a speed upgrade for banelings. This is also very importatnt in getting your banelings to battle. Without this upgrade, banelings are way too slow to go to battle. You will need 150 minerals and gas to be able to access this upgrade and will take 100 seconds to have this accessible for banelings.

Secondly, the roaches are kinda the same with banelings. They are tough and have a high speed regeneration of their ability when they are burrowed. Roaches are considered to be ranged unit. It has melee attacks like of a hydralisk that performs at a close range but with the same damage rate as of their ranged attack. They are good against zerglings, zealots and hellions but they are weak when up against immortals, ultralisks and mmm. Roaches does not have anti-air attacks. If you want to use the burrow ability, it will need 100 gas and minerals and 100 seconds to be able to do this. Upgrades are also available for roaches to be better in the battle. These upgrades are;

  • glial reconstitution – this will increase roaches’ speed. This would require the lair before it is made available. It would also require 100 gas and minerals before you will be able to access this.
  • Tunneling claws – this upgrade will enable roaches be able to move even if burrowed. It is able to move faster when burrowed underneath the creep.
  • Missile attacks – this is an upgrade for attacks bonuses for zerg ground units and the queens. This would require 100 minerals and gas for level 1, 150 for level 2 and 200 for level 3.
  • Carapace – this will give +1 bonus to zerg ground units’ armor per level.

Now imagine these two at the same time in the battle. One is a bomber and the other is a spit firing unit. The baneling and roaches combo, as what they call it, is considered to be one of the greatest combo strategies for zerg. When playing against terran, its primary goal is to be able to destroy supply depots early in game by using the highly destructive banelings and then followed by roaches as a follow up. You can build a lot of banelings and roaches and by group you send them out to destroy your opponent’s base. Banelings as a group should be aimed to the buildings and important structures of terran like supply depot, barracks, etc. meanwhile, roaches would attack terran units.

Always remember, it is best to send other back up units that has different qualities with banelings and roaches. You will never know what you will be facing in battle and as mentioned, always have a back up strategy. Always put your head in the game and don’t panic. Last but not the least, always have enough units at your base. You will never know what your enemy is up to. He might be planning for an attack on your base from behind.
So it is always best to be ready at all times.

Shokz vs Marrow Commentated Replay – ZvT

Here is a commentated replay of Shokz playing against MarroW who is viewed as arguably the best Starcraft 2 Terran player.

Also, for most of my games, I played through trial and error, using strategies I’ve seen and read online. I managed to do okay but could never really progress further to platinum.

When I got Shokz Guide, it did help me. It’s a good reference. You’ll get a username and password to the member’s area.

Best Starcraft 2 Zerg vs Protoss Strategies Guide – Effective Shokz SC2 ZvP Strategy And Counters

Zerg vs. Protoss battles are quite arguably the most thrilling battles to watch. With Zealots heavily guarding the Protoss’ camp and Zerglings constantly advancing to throw down enemy forces, a battle between the Zerg and the Protoss is often decided with one main factor – the strategies used.

;

As you may know by now, Blizzard doesn’t favor any faction. Each of the Starcraft species is unlike the other and thereby stands head and shoulders with one another. What sets the difference is the cunning and strategic use of each of the faction’s abilities. In this article, you will know a few tricks on throwing down the gauntlet against a Protoss enemy with your Zerg forces and come away as the victor.

;

Maim your Protoss rival by outnumbering its Zealots with your Zerglings. – Never underestimate the capabilities of the Zerglings against the Protoss’ Zealots. Zealots are the primary attack units of any Protoss forces during the initial stages of the game. And while Zealots may deal massive counters against your forces within melee range, they are never indispensable. On the contrary, they can be easily defeated with Zergling units so long as the Zerglings outnumber them 4 to 1. This ratio can even go as low as 3 or 2 to 1 depending on the terrain as well as the upgrades your Zerglings have received.

;

Should you choose to follow this strategy, be sure to group your Zerglings tightly together before deploying them. Zealots that can catch Zerglings attacking on them in a single file can almost always take them down without needing reinforcements. Zealots are excellent at standing against Zerglings and they can kill unimaginable numbers of Zerglings in a single attack. When attacking in a massive wave, however, Zerglings can easily tilt the tide of the battle to their side.

;

Zerglings truly shine in combats when they are upgraded. Evolve your Zerglings as upgrades become available. Doing so will make them less vulnerable to Zealots even when they are attacking in smaller groups. This will also neutralize to some extent the upgrades your enemy Zealots possess.

;

Another good strategy to use during the initial stage of an attack is to isolate Zealots from their tight groups. This will allow your Zerglings to attack them individually, thereby stripping them off of the protection of their groups.

;

Use more offensive units

;

A Zergling attack, although very effective in its own merits, may still lack the powerful special offensive abilities that only other Zerg units can bring to the table. Zerglings could never win out battles by themselves. Once other units are available at your disposal, fortify your strategy by creating more offensive units. For one, produce Hydralisks.

;

Hydralisks are the basic ranged attackers of the Zerg. These often prove their worth in combats as back up for advancing Zergling units. Hydralisks can deliver even more massive ranged attacks as they undergo evolution to produce Grooved Spines. Spare them some of your resources to allow them to evolve.

;

Always keep in mind that Zealots, although not as sophisticated as higher-level Protoss breeds, are very capable of defending their camps. Keep your edge over them by having superior Hydralisk and Zergling numbers to throw them down. These two are the bread and butter of your strategy, be it defensive or offensive. All other units are secondary.

;

Produce your reinforcements

;

In the middle and well into the end of the game, the course of the battle will most likely shift from ground attacks to aerial attacks. Overlords/Overseers and Mutalisks will prove to be great support groups as well as main attacking forces against your enemy’s camp at this point as Zealots won’t be able to retaliate against your main air units. Should your enemy lack the defense of either Photon Cannons, these units could easily tip the odds to your side.

;

Ready your camp for attack

;

It is not unlikely that as the game progresses, your Protoss rival will bring the battle close to your home. Better get prepared with a well-defended camp. It won’t also hurt if you have an expansion colony that could fortify your base and divide the attacking forces.

;

Spine Crawlers will help a ton in fortifying your defenses. Keep invading forces busy with your Zerglings – usually a massive wave of Zealots are used at this point – and let your Spine Crawlers deal with the rest.

Best Starcraft 2 Zerg vs Terran Strategies Guide – Shokz SC2 ZvT Strategy & Counters

With their obsession in producing genetically perfect species, the Zerg is again back to hunt down the weak and to assimilate with potentially powerful beings in the Starcraft galaxy. In the second installment of the game, the Zerg will once again try to conquer Terran and Protoss with their ruthless and cunning abilities to exterminate species that could corrupt the otherwise near-perfect Zerg genome.

;

The Terrans, compared to Protoss, quite possibly fair better in standing against the Zerg. Zerg fans, however, don’t have to fret just as yet as there are plenty of very effective strategies that can help your chosen Zerg race defeat the well-defended Terran juggernauts. In this guide, you will find some of the best Zerg versus Terran strategies.

;

Use the swarm.

;

Zerg strategies for defeating both the Terrans and the Protoss, but more especially the Terrans, are centralized on making full use of the strength of the swarm and massive amounts of units that move in on their enemies in a rush. This is the central theme of all Zerg battle strategies and this is what they are best at. Against Terran, flooding enemy troops is the main strategy you should employ.

;

Close in on enemy with special Zerg units.

;

By design, Terrans are ranged attackers. They can exonerate their enemies within their range, but they are often proved defenseless when attacked from within a close range. Taking this to mind, use special Zerg units that can deal with their enemies from within melee range.

;

Although rarely seen in battles, the Infestors are a special Zerg unit that is venerable for its burrowing abilities and superb enemy harassment capabilities. A number of Zerg units may burrow for protection or ease of movement, but nothing can compare to the Infestors which could remain undetected even when there are detectors nearby. What’s even better is that Infestors can easily take down enemy units even when they’re a few feet underground.

;

Terran units are especially vulnerable against Infestors since these can spawn infested Terran units in their burrowed state. The Infestors also have the ability to take over control of an entire Terran unit with its special Neural Parasite ability. This ability allows full control of both ground and air units, enabling the Infestors to use the special abilities and upgrades of the infested units against their own camp.

;

Scout your terrain and your enemy’s camp.

;

It’s an SOP that most Zerg players often overlook to the detriment of their forces. Before sending out your first offensive attackers, survey your terrain first and scout your enemy’s territories to check on what your opponent can dish out against you. The information you will gather will help a great deal in creating the best strategies you could use to defeat your enemies.

;

The most common, and quite possibly the most effective, Terran vs. Zerg attack is the Marauder and Marine combination with accompanying Tanks and Dropships. If your Terran enemy is using this strategy, you will be able to prepare your counter with units of Zerglings and Infestors. You’d also be able to avoid a deadly counterattack that uses Roaches. Marauders are excellent damage dealers against Roaches. It’s suicide to use this as part of your offensive force.

;

If your rival is building Siege Tanks and Thors, you can prepare plenty of Zerglings to keep them busy. Most winning Zerglings strategies may be built on taking over enemy camp with the least possible downtime, but having a well-planned strategy based on info gathered via scouting could never be underestimated.

;

Expand your colonies…but not too quickly

;

In the rush of the game, most Zerg players try to expand as quickly as their resources allow. Unless you’re well grounded defense-wise, this is a big no-no. And against Terran forces, this proves to be a fatal mistake. You should only expand when you already have ample resources and sufficient defense. Until you can confidently handle massive attacks coming from your enemy, production of offensive units should not take the bulk of your resources.

;

In the end, nothing beats a Zerg versus Terran strategy that is built on the synergy of speed, planning, and a massive force of defense and offense units that enemy troops will find hard to stand against.  The most important thing to keep in mind is to harass your enemy with a constant wave of Speed Zerglings and prevent him from fortifying his camp.

Best Starcraft 2 Zerg vs Zerg Strategies Guide – Effective SC2 ZvZ Strategy & Counters

With the same strategies at hand and units and structures to be used, you can expect nothing less than a fiercely fought battle in a Zerg versus Zerg combat. In this Starcraft 2 guide, you will learn a few tricks to tip the odds of victory over to your side.

;

Speed and Brood Structures

;

Any long-time Zerg fan would know that speed is a prime factor in increasing Zerg forces’ chances of defeating opposing forces. This is just as important as the succession of units produced.

;

Having speed though doesn’t mean that you can exhaust all your available resources at once to create a very powerful swarm. No, that doesn’t do the trick. It means spending as much resource as needed on units that can deliver massive damage to your enemies. A classic strategy is to produce swarms of Zergling, a very effective but cost-efficient unit, to terrorize and take down the enemy’s colonies. With their low cost and high damage abilities, Zerglings can easily keep an enemy colony busy. They thrive in great numbers and a few upgrades so don’t scrimp on Zergling production and upgrading. These will prove to be a force to reckon with in any battleground, flooding the enemy colonies with a force that can tear down structures and units alike. Even Mutalisks, Hydralisks, and Ultralisks in your enemy’s base will find it impossible to repel a Zergling attack of immense magnitude.

;

The catch here is that your Zerg enemy is more than likely to create his own force of Zergling. If he’s not moving from his base, a constant barrage of Zergling attacks, preferably with a ratio of 5 up to 10 to 1, will give you the advantage. The best moves should be grounded on superior offensive attacks that will let lessen your enemy’s capabilities to outlast you.

;

If, on the other hand, the combat is close to your home, you’ll need to have your own massive force of Zerglings, about a hundred or more units, that is supported with Mutalisks and Hydralisks to fend off the same kind of attack from the enemy. Combine this with a choking tactic, a strategy that will suppress the Zerglings that are entering your camp, and you will be able to prevent the Zergling rush.

;

Scouting

;

Early reconnaissance often dictates the speed and manner by which you can cripple your enemy’s forces. With reconnaissance, you will see what your opponent is doing, what it’s preparing against you, and what you can do to counter its possible strategies. This can also help you to create your initial tactics, especially offensive attacks, as well. It may not be written in stone that the first player who attacks wins a Zerg vs. Zerg combat, but having the upper hand often does a great deal of damage on your opponent’s forces. Better keep the enemy busy with defending its camp than you deal with the same situation.

;

Reconnaissance with a reasonably powerful Overlord/Overseer may prove to be a very risky tactic at the beginning. This pays off really well though if you can execute the tactic right. Once your Overlord is within your enemy’s vicinity, you can begin with reconnaissance. Overlords, unlike less powerful units, have nothing to fear until your enemy’s queen starts creating Spore Colonies or producing Hydralisks. Until then, you will have the liberty to scout the area and find out as much as you can about your enemy. Once you see Hydralisks coming out from their eggs, though, you should move your Overlord to a safer distance to avoid annihilation.

;

Counter Attacks

;

If your enemy is moving fast against you, there are a few things you could do to tilt the tide of battle to your side. First, fortify your ground defenses with Zergling-Banelling combination. This could do serious damage to your enemy’s offensive forces. This also easily neutralizes any wave of Zergling or Baneling or the combination of both once it attacks your colony. You’d also do well to fast upgrade your units into Mutalisks, although keeping more Hydralisks could prove more advantageous. Rule of thumb: If you can’t afford the losses from your Mutalisks-they could be quite expensive-stick with your Hydralisks.

;

For your aerial defense as well as offensive aerial attacks, you can count on the mighty Mutalisks to do the work for you. Ensure that your Mutalisks are well-escorted though to avoid heavy losses at your side.

;

For an all-out war, Ultralisks and Nydus Worms can be your best bets, especially at the end of the game.

Best Way To Use Zerg Creep Strategies Guide – Shokz SC2 How To Take Advantage of Creep & Expand

Zerg are known to be terrifying, ruthless creatures, and also with their dedication for their genetic perfection. Zerg uses live organisms to be able to sustain their own kind. They don’t use advance technological units like Terran and Protoss. Zerg uses their expertise in mutation to be able to survive, produce their own kind and to be able to sustain themselves.

;

One of the most important structures of Zerg is the Creep. It is a requirement in building other Zerg units and structures. Before you will be able to create a creep, you will need a Hatchery. There are a lot of functions and uses of the Creep. They are:

  • Upgrades Nydus Worms and Creep Tumors
  • helps sustaining other zerg units
  • Nourishes Zerg units and buildings around it

These are just some of the common functions of a Creep. For Zerg Players, unfortunately, The creep is one of the under estimated structure. Sadly, some players focus more with direct combat. Firstly, Zerg units are able to increase their movement speed because of the Creep. It adds an additional 30% of their speed. Secondly, the opponent won’t be able to build directly near the Creeps. This is very helpful in denying expansion of your enemy. Third in line is that it helps in giving vision what the opponent is doing and will be doing. It can help you prepare for whatever strategy your enemy is using. Fourth, it allows you to build some helpful units like the Spores and Spine Crawlers in any location of the map.

;

For you to be able to spread creeps, use Overlords. Most of the high-leveled Players of Zerg are able to spread creeps all over the area of the map before the game ends. Even if they are busy with the direct combat on the enemy, they still managed to do this without any difficulty. For you to be able to accomplish this, you will need to upgrade to a Lair. This will allow your Overlords to be able to spread your Creeps automatically. It would be best to have your Overlords on empty areas of the map and wait for your enemy’s expansion. For a certain, your enemy will try to kill your Overlords and right after killing it, they will try to send out a number of units to be able to expand. However, you have the Creeps and they will actually persist for about 30 seconds and will give you time for you to stop your enemy from expanding.

;

Always remember that whatever strategy you are using, it is always best to have a Plan B. Just in case Plan A fails, you will have a counter attack to whatever happens in game. Keep a clear mind while playing and don’t let your emotions get in to you. While building your base, always have enough number of units to be able to scout around and prepare for any early rush attack from your enemy. Through this, you won’t be surprised and panic.

Effective Starcraft 2 Zerg Mining with Nydus Worms Strategy Guide – Best Shokz Strategies for Zerg

The most basic question with this topic is What is Nydus Worms? Nydus Worms are produced by what we called Nydus Network and would serve as the opening for Nydus Tunnel Network that can have 255 units to the maximum. Nydus Network has limited speed in producing Nydus Worms. It can only build one unit at a time. In Opening the Nydus Network, it will give you a view on your target location on the map and where Nydus Worm is around it. Previously, Nydus Network was called Nydus Warren. Nydus Network allows the loading and unloading of up to 255 units. In addition to this, you will no longer be able to unload any unit once it has been carried by any Nydus Network or Nydus Worm.. For you to be able to spawn a nydus worm, you will need at least 100 minerals and Gas. Unlike the other buildings of Zerg, you can produce Nydus worm even without having a Creep. You can right away produce a Nydus worm.

;

Here are some of the workable features of Nydus Network:

  • The Nydus Network is being produced by the Drones.
  • Units can be loaded into the Nydus Network.
  • The Nydus Worm can be spawned by Nydus Network at any location of the map as long as you have 100 minerals and gas. It would take 20 seconds to execute this.
  • Units can go in and out from a Nydus Worm or Nydus Network to another of its kind.
;

Just a little touch down on the Creep. It is the color purple, mat-like building of Zerg. It will remind you whenever you are in an unsafe area. According to some reliable sources, the Creep has this structure of a cellular and definitely not a mucus. It has the capability in providing nutrients to the buildings. Unlike Protoss and Terran, Zerg does not uses technology to run its base but uses living structures which are mutated.

;

The mining Zerg trick using both Nydus worm and Nydus network is pretty neat. All you need to do is have the Nydus network right by the main hatchery. Set the rally point to the mineral point, then to the hive. It will tell where to go and where to go back. All the drones unload from where the Nydus worm is and gathers minerals and goes back inside the Nydus worm again and unloaded by the Network. If your macro is really good, this will be a neat trick for you to be able to mine anywhere on the map. Just make sure to put your Nydus worm by the minerals and have your Nydus network in the main hatchery. Basically, hot key your worm and network with 3 and 4. You will need to push D every 16 seconds.

;

Going back, Some players love using Nydus Worms. It gives them a great feeling in game, Imagine that the Nydus worm can just pop up on any location of the map and once again, it does not need the creep. Though, It wont be able to pop up in the unexplored locations of the map. So,me players uses this to their advantage to be able to mine anywhere of the map.

Best Starcraft 2 Zerg Spine Crawlers Rush Strategy – Effective Shokz SC2 Spine Crawler Strategies

Zerg is one of the specie in the world of Starcraft. They are considered to be extremely deadly. Commanded by the Zerg Overmind, they strive for perfection with their genes by assimilating other kinds species. Whenever a specie has been assimilated, it is then mutated to a different type of unit with a specific function within their hierarchy. Zerg is not like Protoss that relies on technology to be able to create weapons, ships or even armor. These are efficiently gained through mutation. Even their buildings are specialized organs of a zerg nest.

;

Talking about Zerg Spine Crawler, they are classified as Ground Turret. It requires a spawning pool for you to create this unit. You will need at least 100 minerals to create one Zerg Spine crawler. It uses the Impaler Tentacle attack as its weapon that does 25 damage with a range rate of 7. Since we have a short overview on Spine Crawler Units, let’s talk about strategies. How to be able to use them as a way to victory?

;

The most challenging thing in using Spine Crawler Rush is when you are also against your own kind. When you are up against a Zergling Opponent, you really have to double time. One important thing is, you have to have a good number of minerals and you will also need a creep to be able to execute this Spine Crawler Rush Strategy. The goal here is to be able to spoil your enemy’s creep before being able to create a Spine Crawler and then you can have a number of Zerglings as well.

;

At the start of the game, have all your Drones collect minerals, when you get 8/10 cap, build a Spawning Pool. You should have your Drone towards your opponent’s base. Of course, this would depend on the size of the map. After the Spawning Pool has been successfully built, have your Spine Crawlers in place at your enemy’s creep. As much as possible be on the edges of the creep, to be able to keep it from your enemy’s sight. Right after this, have 3 eggs of Zerglings as a support for your Crawlers. Another thing you need to know and to be a master of is multitasking. Through this you will be able to do more units and buildings at the same time attacking your opponent without feeling the rush on your game. Create an overlord as soon as you have created your first three Zerglings. Then train more Zerglings when you have accomplished this. All is set now, you should have a good defense and offense side at this point. Just remember to place your Crawlers at the right places. They can destroy the Hatchery fast and easy.

;

There are a lot of possible counters that will happen in the game. At the start of your game, when you are spotted right there and then. Cancel the Crawlers and run around. This will keep your enemy busy chasing you. Continue building your base as fast as you can. Another early attack of your enemy would be killing your Spine Crawler as soon as it finishes. Do not panic. Instead, have a number of Lings support your Crawlers. If you don’t have Lings, Drones can be considered.

;

The most important thing here is to be calm at all time. If your opponent does an early attack on you, use that as a strategy against him. Try to keep him busy attacking you while you build your base as fast as you can and try to build the right units that you can to keep control of the game.

Best Starcraft 2 Zerg 6 Pool Rush Strategy Guide – Top Shokz SC2 Zerglings Rush Strategies

In every game, Rush is a very common term being used. It usually means to attack in surprise with speed to be able to destroy your opponent before they can build up strong defense of their base. Of course, you need to make sure your opponent is unready for you attack or else it won’t be called a surprise. In this post is the Zerging rush, which refers to the rush tactic of the Zergs. Further tips, guidelines and information on the 6 pool Rush are discussed below. This will give you ideas on how to be successful in using this strategy.

;

There are 2 ways in charging your enemy with the Rushing tactics which are:

  • Turtling – a combination of building a powerful defense and a massive fire power. It would be best to use aircraft units and a number of artillery then later on you can have your army marching in to your opponent’s base.
  • Quick Expansion – being able to build better and expensive units and facilities than your opponent. Through this you will be able to achieve dominance quickly on the game.

Zerg rush refers to the tactic in attacking your enemy with 6 or more zerg units. This would be a strategy in creating a Spawning pool as the game starts and the Zerg player would sacrifice its economy to enable Zerglings. In the 6 Pool Rush often shortened as 6 pool, the player would start building up to six worker units and til he gets enough resources, a Spawning Pool can be built.

;

6 pool rush is a very risky strategy and a rare one too. If you will be able to get 6 pool rush tactic, this means you can’t afford to have other units but Drones only. You will need to micro and have the lings in the correct positions. They have to surround your area. From here you are not that behind from your enemy. Just make sure you won’t allow him to expand.

;

This tactic is good if you are good in handling your resources well. Prioritizing the spawning pool first. You will be able to overwhelm your enemy only if he has insufficient defense system. Zerglings are quick and cheap so that is why continuous attack to your enemy’s base will surely be a victory. Always have the main building to be the first target. For Terran it is called the Command Center, Nexus for Protoss and Hatchery for Zerg. Through this, it will prevent your opponent to have the capability in gathering resources and would loss the chance in creating quick offensive units against your harass.

;

So, do not be afraid in using this tactic. It could be rare and very risky but once you get the hang of it and with the right timing, it is a sure win for you. Not to forget the above tips and of course make sure to make the first move. It will never be a surprise attack if your enemy is prepared and has made its first attack on the game.

How To Best Counter Archons with Zerg – Shokz Starcraft 2 Strategies for Anti-Archon

Protoss Archons are known for their insurmountable power, which can cause minor splash damage against both air and ground units. Their attacks are short-ranged, and have most of their health capacities embedded in their shields.

;

Veteran players confessed that Archons are not an easy enemy. Nevertheless, they were never left with nothing. Experience taught them to combine different Zerg units to counter Archons. Any of these combinations can be an excellent strategy to defeat the enemy: broodlords and corruptors, roaches and hydralisk, and queen, hydralisks and zerglings.

;
  • Broodlords and Corruptors. Broodlords are flying creatures which serve as the prime aerial siege units for the swarm. When they are deployed to strike assault, they spring out two broodlings on their front. Before the archons are struck, the archons have to first defeat the two broodlings. And by the time these two broodlings are killed, another pair appears. The best place to deploy brood lords is on the cliffs; it will get you through protoss defenses. Corruptors, on the other hand, are your anti-air unit to pair up the brood lords. With its corruption ability—the Zerg slime—you can take extra damage against the archons.
  • Roaches and Hydralisks. Your roaches make the best anti-ground unit. They are also almost impossible to kill because they enjoy the ability to regenerate, which can take place while they are burrowed. Also, they can move while they are hidden underneath, so, you can carry out a surprise attack as soon as they emerge. Upgrade on their Glial Reconstitution to accelerate their ground movement. To initiate your anti-air campaign with optimal results, upgrade the Grooved Spines ability of your hydralisks. This will enhance their attack range. Hydralisks can cover both the air and the ground. Together, hydralisks and roaches can beat the archons. If you encounter more difficulties, use your queen.
  • Hydralisks and Zerglings. Amass hydralisks in large numbers to overwhelm the archons. Avoid attacking the archons with your hydras in closer range. The Zerglings should have an upgrade on their Metabolic Boost to outrun the Archons, although they are already a high-speed ground unit. When upgraded, they can catch up on the fleeing archons.
