Now, the Terran Ghost is back in Starcraft 2 and more powerful than ever. In the first tarcraft, Ghosts were very cheap units that were practically expendable. But now in Starcradt 2 they fulfill a bigger role as a formidable spellcaster that also comes with a higher price. With abilities like the Tactical Nuke, Snipe and EMP, Ghosts are now extremely dangerous in the hands of a skilled Terran player.

So how do you limit your Terran enemy in using the ghosts in such a way to counter the Terran Ghosts using your own Terran units?
Below are some simple techniques found in this guide on how to counter Terran Ghosts…

• The Terran Raven – For obvious reasons, the ability Mobile Detection is extremely valuable against ghosts. And also, the Seeker Missiles do just enough damage to kill them in one shot.
• Counter also with your Ghost – Bare in mind and make sure you are the first to fire EMP Round on the enemy ghost, then just cloak and kill.

So how do you basically counter your opponent’s Terran Marauders with Terran? The Terran marauder is equipped with dual grenade launchers that are effective against armored targets and slow the speed of enemy units except massive units. So that could pose you problems.

• Fly your Banshee – When you see your opponent making a lot of Marauders, the best counter easily is the Banshees. Have in mind that and make sure to take out anti-air units first, such as marines, and then start getting free kills on those helpless Marauders.
• Counter also using Marauders – Another effective option. Make Marauders too, make more of them than your opponent and upgrade them as fast as you can
• Deploy your Marines – Not one of the bonuses of the Marauder apply against marines. Because they’re not armored, and since they have about the same firing range, they don’t care much about being slowed by concussive shells.

Probably for most terrans, playing against other Terrans is not to their liking. This might be because no one lines to have a matchup against their own shadow, an opponent whom they feel can exacty mimic their move. First, you need to be familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each Terran unit. There are 4 classifications : infantry, mech, air, and support. Each has a specialization, and the best plaers know it is unwise to send them all during battle, and organization in the battle field is key. Doing micro is best for distributing hotkeys.

The videos below feature a Terran vs Terran matchup, displaying some great gameplay by both players, with a seasaw action. Gretorp plays the red terran at the top while Painuser plays the yellow Terran. Painuser focus more on mech build that is fairly Thor-heavy, mixed with marines & vikings. Gretorp focuses on Marauders, on infantries, with few tanks.

In longer games like this, the main strategy is to hurt the opponents player’s economy. Harassing SCV’s, preventing expansions, and counter-attacking is what leads to victory. Mixing units is vital too, you can see a couple times where Gretorp’s marauders just take out Painuser’s Thors so quickly. Also, having a few air units when your enemy has mostly ground army is huge can also be a factor in the end-game.
