Starcraft 2 Terran Thor And Medivac Combo – Best SC2 Terran Strategies vs TvT, TvP, TvZ
As we all know that strategy is one of the important things in playing a game to reach victory. Using different strategies at the right time with the right opponent is the key. If you just use strategies without knowing when and how to use it, then it would be useless. It will never make you win. As we all know, Terran is a good pick. No matter what race you choose to play with, it would all depend on your great strategy knowledge, advance back up plans and great micro skills. Combine this three, I am pretty sure, you won’t lose that easily against any player. Of course, you have also have to consider the level on your playing skills and your opponent’s. You also have to learn new tactics to be able to cope up on what is new in playing starcraft 2. strategies can also be combined. Each tactic uses a specific type of unit for you to use against your enemy with support group. What I mean on the combination of strategies is using 2 or more units in overwhelming your enemy. They will be your generals in your battlefield. The rest will be merely supporters. I will be giving tips and further information on the terran combo strategy for thor and medivac.
To give you a quick overview on each unit, Thor is a giant, walking battle ship. It is capable of giving great damage to ground, air units and buildings as well. Thor is considered to be a powerful unit but is a bit expensive and moves a bit slow. This means that you will need to make sure the thors that you have produced will last or will live as long as possible. So you will need SCVs to support them. Before you will be able to produce a thor, you will need 300 minerals and 200 gas. It takes 60 seconds to build a single thor. It requires armory, factory tech lab as well before it is accessable. It uses the Javeline Missile Launchers for air attack. It has a range of 10 yards and the speed is slow. It also uses the Thor’s Hammer for ground attack. It has a range of 7 yards and is fast. It has the so-called 250mm Strike Cannons ability wherein it fires up a single unit or building and stunning it while giving a 500 damage in 6 seconds to the unit. It needs 150 minerals and gas before you are able to use this. There are upgrades available for thors. Which are:
Vehicle Weapons
- Level 1: (Minerals: 100, Gas: 100)
- Level 2: (Minerals: 175, Gas: 175)
- Level 3: (Minerals: 250, Gas: 250)
- Requirement : Factory
Vehicle Plating
- Level 1: (Minerals: 100, Gas: 100)
- Level 2: (Minerals: 175, Gas: 175)
- Level 3: (Minerals: 250, Gas: 250)
- Requirement: Factory
Last but not the least you need to know about thors are: they are best against Protoss Stalker, Zerg Mutalisk and a Terran Marine but they are vulnerable to a Marauder, Protoss Immortal and Zerglings. So it is important for you to know what you are against with and what units are being used by your opponent.
Medivac Dropship or also known as Medical Evacuation Dropship is founded in the world of Starcraft 2. It is currently in the hot seat. It is the most talked about unit for terran. Medivac is a drop ship that is able to hold 8 marines , 4 marauders, 2 tanks, etc. The main reason why the medivac is at its controversy is their second ability which is healing. It can provide healing support for wounded units. It is designed to replace the medics. Since Medics is not able to keep up with reapers, this Medivac dropship was purposely designed to take over. For you to be able to produce a Medivac, you will first need Starport. It also needs 100 minerals and Gas. As mentioned it has the ability to Heal, Load units and Unload them.
Now imagine if you have both a Thor and a Medic combined. Having marines inside your medivac and a thor at the same time. Rushing them to your enemy’s base at a surprise and then keep sending out medivacs and thor non-stop until you have claimed victory in the game. This will be an easy win. But then again, you need to consider other things like the thor’s and Medivac’s weaknesses, your enemy’s movements, back up plans, etc. You need to have a support back-up army for your Thors and Medivacs once you have sent them out on the battlefield.
Best SC2 Basic Terran M3 Ball Strategies Guide – Shokz Efficient MMM & Other Terran Strategies for TvT, TvP & TvZ
Terran has a lot of strategies to overcome their opponent’s attack. Terrans are considered to be one of the most resourceful race in the world of starcraft and they have certainly have evolve in starcraft 2. Terran is a fictional character for humans . They are considered to be the survivors and have always been dedicated a full campaign the the real time strategy game. They specializes in their units and tactics In defending their race and mobility.
One of the terran’s strategy to be able to overwhelm their enemy is called the standard m3 ball or also known as the triple M. The triple M stands for MARINES, MARAUDERS AND MEDIVACS. I would like to introduce to each one. Marines are the front liners of every battle. The most famous ‘you want a piece of me boy’ line, is their popular call out after they have been created. They are fully equipped and ready to take a fight. Marauders are considered to be terran’s infrantry unit. They are more of a support unit which are heavyweight that is equipped with a firebat suit packs and a Quad K12 Punisher grenade launcher that will surely devastate enemy units and vehicles from a distance. Last but not the least, medivacs are new flying units of the terran race. It is a combination of the Medic and a dropship based on the original game of starcraft. Through the medivacs, the infantry drops of Terran are even more deadly and scary. The important thing why I have defined each one, is for you to picture out what happens when 3 powerful units of terran are combined and are up for the battle. Now is the almost perfect strategy for terran players. The M3 ball, composed of units capable of both defense and offense attacks which really are able top stand up and fight. This is clearly the right strategy to counter any kind of attack or eventuality. In addition to that, there are three upgrades that can be added – Combat Shield, Concussive Shells and Stim Packs. This, for certain, can really keep your feet on the ground for the entire battle.
If you want to achieve the M3 ball, first is you will need to quickly set up two barracks after you are able to upgrade the Orbital Command. Add the Reactor add-on to one of your barracks while the other two gets a Tech-lab. From here, producing units are made easier. In achieving the m3 ball quickly, all you need to do is continue building two Marauders and marines at a time. This will allow the production of your army while upgrading your units. Upgrade is a must in using the M3 ball tactic. When you already have built marines and marauders, then you will need to build a starport for you to be able to start producing medivacs, to complete your collection for this strategy. Once you have your medivacs, then you are good to go. Try to look for weak spots on your enemy and you attack from there.
No matter what type of game you play, you must always have a strategy. You must also understand the functions of every unit for you to know which one is best to produce for your battle. If you are producing weak units against your enemy, then it will do no good. You will eventuality lose the game. Another thing is, make sure you have an alternative plan, whenever your first plan doe not work. Do not panic when you are losing your units. Keep sending out back up units when you are harassing your enemy’s base. Last but not the least, always keep an eye on your base. Put a number of units on stand by in your base. You will never know your enemy is also planning a surprise attack while you are busy harassing him.
Best SC2 Quick Thor Rush of Terran Strategy Guide – Shokz Starcraft 2 Early Rushes Strategies in TvT, TvP & TvZ
Thor is one of the most powerful unit of the Terran race. Thor is considered to be the “ultimate heavy-assault mech”. Before you will be able to create a Thor, you will then first need a factory that produces it, together with armory and tech lab. To be able to produce a Thor, you will need 300 minerals and 200 gas. Build time usually takes 60 seconds. Its vitals stats are 400 hit points and 200 energy. It uses 2 kinds of weapon :
A) Thors Hammer – attacks on the ground which has 30 (+3) damage points with a range of 7 and speed of 1.28.
B) Javelin Missile Launchers – attacks in the air which has 6 +1 damage points with a range of 10 and speed of 3. it has an additional of 6 vs light. The Thor has the ability called 250mm strike cannons. It fires at a single unit , stunning it and gives 500 damage over 6 seconds to it. For the Thor to be able to give this attack, it needs 100 energy and it has an attack range of 7. Like any other unit, upgrades are also available which are;
- Vehicle weapons upgrade – upgrades the damage rate dealt by the ground vehicles. 1st upgrade would need 100 minerals and gas, 2nd upgrade needs 175 on minerals and gas and 250 for the last upgrade.
- Vehicle plating upgrade – upgrades the armor of the ground vehicles which needs 100 minerals and gas on the 1st upgrade, 175 on the second upgrade and 250 for the last upgrade.
Now, here are the things you will need to do for you to be able to accomplish the Thor rush tactic. First thing first, you will need to build supply depot at 10 supplies, then build your barracks at 12 supplies, followed by your refinery at 13. next is, build a factory when you get 100 gas. While building these structures, keep training more scvs and marines plus some orbital command boost. Just a tip, don’t build a tech lab on the barracks that you built not unless you have your armory. As soon as everything above is finish, build an armory as soon as possible. When you have your armory, then you can build a tech lab. After this, build a Hellion right away. As soon as your armory is don, build your first Thor. Right after your first Thor, put 8 scvs on it and then go for your first attack. You can just right click to be able to set up an auto repair. Just right click on repair option. As soon as you sent them out, build your second Thor. When it is done, put 6 scvs on it and send them out as a support on your first Thor. And then repeat this until you have destroyed your enemy.
The main goal here is to send thors as much as you can while your enemy is trying to defend its base. Make sure you have a number of units in position in your base, just in case there are any units being sent out from your enemy as well. The technique here is to multitask. Build the units and buildings above in order and while building one unit or structure, if you still have the resources to build the next one, then go ahead build it. This will make you swift in building your base and army.
Best Starcraft 2 Terran Nuke Rush Strategy Guide – Quick Shokz SC2 Terran Rushes Strategies in TvT, TvP, TvZ
Nukes are underused in starcraft 2. Not everybody knows that Nukes are actually cool to use in the game. If you just know when and how to use them. One of the possible reasons why Nukes are not that used that often because of the high cost of tech before you get access to them. If you are looking for some great fun with your enemies then this nuke strategy is a great way to be able to overwhelm your opponent.
There are a lot of possible ways to be able to use this nuke strategy. It will all depend on you on how and what you want to happen in the game. I can suggest first is to create a diversion first by attacking your opponent’s base. The main goal here is to keep your enemy busy by attacking and backing off, so that he needs to micro his units every now and then. You can make use of your siege tanks together with your hellions and marines to do the siege. Always remember the main goal and that is to keep his attention on your army and countering your attacks. While you are sending out armies as a diversion, immediately use the cloak ability on your ghost and then send him at the back of your enemy’s base and go for the nuke. A nuke can take out supply depots and pylons, even overlords in one blow. If you enemy has built his buildings at one single spot, then the best location for your nuke. One more thing, if your enemy’s base is still mining, then you have to target the Nexus directly. When the nuke lands there and he doesn’t get his units out of the way in time, then they will all be destroyed at a single blow, except for the ones in the refineries. This will greatly damage your enemy’s economy. A lot of players, whenever hearing the warning message ‘Nuclear Launch Detected’, would get easily intimidated. They would start to panic and look for the little red dot
Another way to start the game with this strategy is by sending all your scvs to mine. Build up to 10 scvs and as soon as the 10th scv is done, build a vespane gas. Then get 1 scv to build a barracks. Get another scv and build a supply depot as soon as you have 100 minerals. When you are done building your supply depot, send those 2 scvs back to mine and the scv that worked on your barracks. You should have enough money by now and you can now start training two marines and a bunker. Then build a factory. While you are building the factory, don’t forget to build your defenses as well. Just a tip, keep 150 minerals and 100 gas so that you can build a starport once your factory is finished. While you are building your starport, start building your academy as well. When your starport is done, build your science facility and add the convert opps when you are done. After this, you may start building you nukes.
There are also disadvantages in using the nuke strategy. Especially if you are against a zerg player using lings rush and you don’t have a strong defense. You can also use ghosts by sending them cloaked to your enemy’s base. This is useful in killing your enemy’s miners, to kill their economy.
Quick SC2 Terran Proxy Reaper Rush Counters Strategies Guide – Shokz Starcraft 2 Anti-Rush, Reaper Counter for Zerg, Protoss & Terran in TvT, PvT & ZvT
The Proxy Reaper Rush for Terran is one of the moves that is usually used for openings which is way effective. This tactic is designed to be able to cripple your enemy’s economy and for them to lose their effectiveness. Talking about Reapers, they are very immune to the first tiered units except Zerglings on creeps and speedling which are able to catch up and be able to surround the Reapers.
A number wants to start the game with this strategy because they have the ability to jump along the cliffs that would increase their survival rate.
Some players think it is impossible to counter the Proxy Reaper Rush Strategy. Some would also say that is is easily countered. The Reaper Rush are easily detected mid game or later in the game if your opponent does good scouting techniques. There are effective counter for Proxy Reaper Rush which will be discussed on the succeeding paragraphs. The effective counter tactics would depend on what type of character you are playing.
If you are using Terran, it is easy for you to counter the Reapers. It would only require a Marauder. It is suggested to build the following:
- 10 out of 11 supplies of Supply Depot
- 12 out of 19 supplies of Barracks
- 13 out of 19 supplies of Refinery
When all of these are present, you need to build a tech Lab onto the Barracks and when it is done, train a Marauder and then research Concussive Shells. Have your Marauder right next to your SCVs. A marauder has the ability to destroy a number of Reapers. Use the slowing attack, this will not let the Reapers run away from you. You now have the advantage and it will be an easy kill for you now.
Lets talk about Zerg players. Of all the living specie in Starcraft 2, Zerg has the most advantage against Reaper Rush. To start with, 2 Reapers can be easily destroyed by just one Queen. It only needs 3-4 Zerglings as the offense and defense of the Queen, preventing the Reapers from hitting the Queen. The easiest way is when you have 4 Zerglings, chase the Reapers, leading them to you Queen. Now, as I have said, its an easy kill from here on.
Last but not the least, as Protoss. Countering a tactic of your own kind is the most challenging. However, there is still a way to counter that. Firstly, you need to build the following:
- 9 out of 10 supplies of Pylon
- 12 out of 19 supplies of Gateway
- 14 out of 19 supplies of Assimilator
- 15 out of 19 supplies of Cybernetics Core
when all of these on the list are done. As soon as the Cybernetics Core is done, you need to use the Chrono-Boost on your Gateway to be able to produce a Stalker in a fast pace. A single stalker has the ability to kill a group of Reapers easily. However, don’t think that you don’t need a defense side. You will still need it just in case. Place 2 Stalkers to protect your minerals. Like what I have said, It is challenging to be against on your own kind. Even if you have done this perfectly, if your opponent is good, your stalker would be few seconds behind from your enemy’s Reaper.
So just be haste and just like any other games, always have a second plan when all else fails.
Fast Starcraft 2 Terran Marine Rush Strategy – Effective Shokz SC2 Marines Rushes Guide for TvT, TvP & TvZ
“You want a piece of me boy?” , The most famous call out for a marine whenever created in game. Marines are fully equipped with armored suits and a c-14 rifles. Although the marines are fully equipped but they tend to be the very first ones to die in combat. Not to mention, Marines are considered to be the front liners of every battle.
As we all know, every type of unit has its own unique strength and weakness. Terran is such a versatile race because in every game that you play you would end up building more structures of each kind (e.g. barracks, factory, starport , etc) just for you to be able to maintain and sustain good and quick production of Terran units. Marine is a great counter against a protoss player especially when using their Void Ray Rush tactic. However, they are weak against Zerglings and Zealots.
Let us talk about a faster way in navigating through the game and controlling your units in an easier way too. It is called Macro or Macroing. It is a term used in game wherein you assign a letter or a number on the keyboard to command a specific unit or structure. Macroing is also known as using your hot keys. When you get to master this, you will be able to build your base, commanding your units, attacking your opponent or even retreating from battle conveniently and rapidly. Which will have you ahead of your enemy. It might take a while in mastering hot keys and macroing but rest assured, this will be a great help for you up against a good player too.
As a Terran Player, you must have at least an SCV on training que in your command center. Through this you will be able to gather minerals faster and expand your base effectively. Let us say you would use Hot key 1 for your Command Center (a.k.a CC). So whenever your want to train a new SCV, all you need to do is press the number 1 on your keyboard. No need for you to use your mouse and click on the SCV unit. You can use any key. Just find the most comfortable hot key for you.
Now lets talk about Strategies with Marine units. One common tactic is the Marine Rush. This is an early harass attack on your opponent. When you already have about 2 tanks, have your marines group with them and try to be in position just right outside your opponent’s base. From time to time draw your tanks closer and protect your tanks by surrounding it with your marines. When you have enough numbers of marines, then you are all set for the Marine Rush Attack.
Always remember that whatever race your are using, it has advantages and disadvantages. Use those strengths to your advantage against your enemy. Secondly, the macro tactic is also very helpful in playing the game. It might take awhile for you to master it , but then again once you have mastered it, you will be able to play the game smoothly.
Best Starcraft 2 Terran Hellion Rush Strategy – Quick Shokz SC2 Hellions Rushes Strategies Guide for TvT, TvP & TvZ
There are a lot of strategies to be able to harass the mineral lines of your enemy and to be able to beat down his economy. Through this, you will be ahead of your enemy and will have more advantage in building a bigger and stronger army.
Talking about strategy, one Terran tactic is the Hellion Rush. Let me give a brief description on Hellion. It is a new member of the Terran family units and somewhat the same to Vultures but is a flamethrower and rides on four wheels. The Hellion is the best counter for Zealots and Zerglings but they are not a good counter with Thors, Stalkers and Roaches.
Since Hellions are fast, its main role is to protect the base. Its fast speed allows them to chase retreating enemy units or to be able to escape in any unwanted situation. Another interesting fact is that when they attack, they must stop first. If they are on the move, they won’t be able to attack. Hellion is a great advantage especially with hit and run strategies with slower opponent units. Unfortunately, Hellion is not able to attack air units, but they have enhancements to make them as strong as steel against ground units. There are four upgrades available for Hellion which are:
- Vehicle Weapons level 1 to 3 – This is an upgrade made available for the Terran vehicle units built by the Factory to enhance their damage rate. It has 3 levels. First level would require 100 minerals and gas. Second level needs 175 on both mineral and gas. Lastly, 250 on gas and minerals for the third upgrade.
- Vehicle Plating 1-3 – This is an upgrade for the Terran Units which enhances the armor of all Terran Vehicles. Each upgrade automatically adds accumulative rate to the base armor. There are the same level upgrades and the same mineral and Gas requirements for each level.
- Infernal Pre-igniter Upgrade – this upgrade is for enhancing the flame thrower attack of the Hellions. It gives an additional of 10 damage rate VS Light armor units. It requires 150 gas and minerals.
- High Capacity Barrels – This will increase the range capability of the Hellions.
Going back to the Hellion Rush Strategy, the Hellion drop is good wherein you and your opponent’s base are in a closer position. To get started with this strategy you should build your defense first. To be able to make sure that you are secure whenever enemy units would do a surprise attack. Let an SCV scout as early as possible to know where are the exact locations of your opponent’s base and hold positions. While doing this, you should have your factory in progress. When its done, discreetly move it over to your enemy’s base. Make sure that it won’t be spotted. When you get your factory in place, immediately build your Hellions. Three would be the best number before you reveal yourself. This are untouchable Hellions.
Just a reminder, as always, do not forget to have some good offense and defense units on your base. You will never know, you will get a surprise ambush from your opponent.

Fast Starcraft 2 Secrets Terran Starport Rush Build Order Strategy – Quick SC2 Secrets for Quick Terran Banshees
In every game that you play, you must have a strategy in mind for you to win. Without a strategy , you will never know what to do for you to be able to counter your opponent. If you are sending out a unit which is weak against your opponent’s unit, then you will surely lose the game. One of Terran strategies is called the Terran Starport Rush. First let me give you an overview on what Starport is.
Starport is the only source of Terran Race to be able to produce real flying units. Starport in starcraft 2 produces new Terran Exclusive units such as the Banshee, Medivac, Raven and the Viking. The Battlecruise is still build through the Starport in sc2. For you to be able to build Starport you will need at least 150 Minerals and 100 Gas. You will also need a Factory first before you will be able to start producing starports and of course you will need an SCV to build it. Lift off is the Starport’s special abilities. It allows it to fly at slow speed. Here is an interesting thing about Starports ability in producing aircraft units. Starport has the ability to produce double units with a Reactor add on which is attached to it, or for high tech units with the help of a Tech Lab. If you don’t use either of the two, you will only be able to produce low tech units and and the production will also be slow since it will only allow you to build one unit at a time. Upgrade is also an important thing. This is to strengthen any of your skills. Starport has the Building Armor upgrade which upgrades its armor, literally. For you to be able to upgrade your starport, you will need 150 Minerals and Gas. You will need to research this first using the Engineering Bay before you will be able to make use of the Upgrade.
Now, let us talk about the Starport Rush Strategy. This strategy is somewhat related to the Terran Banshee Attack Strategy. You will know why when you get to read further. The main goal and objective is to be able to produce as many banshees as possible. It takes 5 minutes to be able to produce 1 banshee. So here is the building order for you to be able to do this tactic. First is to get 9 supplies by building SCVs. Then, as soon as you get the 9 supplies, build a refinery immediately. Once you have started building the refinery, build another SCV again. When the building of your refinery completes, immediately have 3 SCVs on it. Then use one of it to do the scouting, if you happen to be in a map with 4 possible starting points. You will need to know your opponent’s location first before they get to know your location. Then build a barracks and another SCV. You should have a total of 11 SCVs. 3 SCVs working on Gas and 8 on your minerals. When the barracks finishes, factory should be then constructed immediately. When it finishes, you need to start a tech lab and then start building Starport. While the Starport is in progress, work on building a supply depot. When the Supply Depot finishes. As the starport finishes, lift it off and then have it switch places with your Factory. Through this you will be able to get a tech lab on your starport instantly. Start building Banshees and ready for the ultimate attack on your opponent’s base. Once you have sent out your first batch, work on building your second batch and send them right away. This is a strategy that is difficult to counter. So if you just keep sending in banshees to your enemy’s base, then the game ends there.
Best Starcraft 2 Starter Terran Build Order for Newbies or Noobs – Easy Shokz SC2 Opening Build Orders Strategies
Terran is a versatile race in Starcraft game. The strategies that you can devise in order to defeat opponents of other races and other Terran enemies are many and unique. One classic build order to defeat a Zerg race is to work on the supply depot, followed by the barrack from the SCV, which constructed the SD. And when the barrack has started, you have to make it certain that you have an SCV building, so you can build your refinery next.
Upon the completion of your refinery, secure 3 SCVs to it. When your barrack is complete, construct 1 marine, and another supply depot of similar SCV. Then you have to construct a second barrack, and secure a reactor for your first barracks. Begin pumping marines and marauders when these add-ons are complete. Many veteran players commence constructing a third barracks with another reactor before they acquire a tech lab. And whenever these players get close to cap, they construct supply depots.
Now, there may be a time when you have to push around the six-minute mark in the game, in which time you set your rally points for your barracks to your assaulting force, while you keep on pumping units as you advance in the game.
Moving forward, most professional Terran players understood that one challenge they face is the slow pace of collecting the minerals and gases particularly when players use the gatherer in constructing buildings. To solve this hindrance, getting a mule—which is an extra unit that can accumulate twice as much mineral than what a regular SCV can collect in 20 minutes—can be an effective strategy to balance the drawbacks associated with a Terran race.
Getting a mule is easy. Early in the game, you should secure 9 gatherers. Then work on constructing your supply depot. Continue on constructing two additional SCV and another supply depot. You will also need to utilize one builder to construct a barracks. Now, it is significant to choose the area to build your barracks. A strategic location is always the best choice—a place where you can favorably block your ramp.
Monitor all your gatherers and ensure they are actively working on your command center. When your barracks is complete, construct another depot using another builder, to seal your ramp. You have to cease producing SCVs when the population has reached 14. These statistics are adequate to upgrade to Orbital command, and hence, acquire your mule quickly.
Upon the completion of your refinery, procure additional two workers for gas accumulation. You can train a few marines to defend your camp from any assault. Then, you can either upgrade to banshee and siege tanks, or construct another barracks. Having a tech lab attached to your barracks is also fine as soon as your vespene gas has attained 50.
When your orbital commands is ready, call down your mule and resume in producing SCVs.
