SC2 Using Immortals To Beat Zerg in PvZ – Shokz Guide to Defeat Zerg with Protoss

Most of the protoss players use Immortals as the last option in the later part of the game. In playing against Zerg, most of Zerg players does not know that the Immortals can fight against them and eventually losing in the game. Immortals can give great damage and this is a big deal for Protoss enemies.

Let us get to know more on the Protoss unit, the Immortals. In starcraft2, it is the new unit in the Protoss race. It essentially replaces the Dragoon but has an added feature of Hardened Shields against the Siege Tank, which is all feared by Protoss players. For it to be accessible, you will need 250 minerals and 100 gas. Its ability is called Hardened Shields. A little information of this ability, it is the ability to reduce damage from units that has high damages but is weak against low damage units. The primary role of the Immortal is being a tank. It is intended to absorb heavy damages from any enemy and reduces it all to 10 using the Hardened Sheilds Upgrade. This is useful, especially when they are against the heavy takers such as Terran’s Siege Tank and the Thor, Protoss’ Dark Templars and the Archon or the Zerg’s Ultralisks. As mentioned earlier, the Dragoon has been replaced with the Immortals now in the new Starcraft 2,. they are refitted with the ability hardened shield that can just shrug off any powerful strike on them. They have three available upgrades and these are:

  • Ground Weapons levels 1-3 – this upgrade enhances the damage output of ground units that are built by Gateway and the Robotics Facility. It is researched in the Forge. It costs 100 minerals and gas for the 1st level upgrade, 150 on the second upgrade and 200 on the 3rd upgrade.
  • Ground Armor levels 1-3 This upgrade is to increase the damage that is dealt by the protoss units. It will require the Twilight Council before this is accessible. It needs 100 gas and minerals on the first upgrade, 175 on the second , and 250 on the third upgrade.
  • Plasma Shields levels 1-3 This is an upgrade that enhances the armor for Protoss Ground units. It will still require the Twilight Concil and the same amount of gas and minerals for all three level upgrades with The Ground Armor Level Upgrade.

When Zerg Players get to play against Protoss players and when they see that you are building Immortals, they would usually send out Roaches. They would hope that they would be able to crush your offense. What they don’t know is that it is the other way around.. Roaches are considered to be armored units and Immortals would deflect most of the damage and the damage would reflect back to the Roaches. Another thing, when your Zerg opponent would send out Zerglings, make sure you have other units to back up your Immortals. It is very important to always have a backup, just in case your Immortals are defenseless.

Just by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of Immortals, you will know when to use them and when to retreat them from battle. Always have back up units, so that when you retreat your Immortals, you will have an alternative army. And, make sure that your back up units does not have similar strengths and weaknesses with Immortals, or else it is a useless back up.

SC2 Protoss Collosus Rush Worth It? Shokz Starcraft 2 Guide – Using Collosus Effectively

Let us talk about a new strategy using a new starcraft 2 unit. Different types of strategies would work at a different type of map, player, situation, etc. starcraft 2 has a new unit for Protoss called Colossus and it is considered to be a powerful unit in the protoss race. Physically, it is somewhat alike the alien machine in the movie of the War of the Worlds. The colossus would require 300 minerals and 200 gas before it is accessible. You will also need the Robotics Bay for you to be able to produce Colossus. It is only capable of attacking ground units with an attack rate of 2, at a range of 6 yards and at a fast speed. The best part of Colossus Is that it has the ability to walk up and down the cliff which is called the Cliff Walk.

In the new world of Starcraft 2, the Colossus is the replacement for the Reavers. As mentioned, it has the capability in climbing level 1 ledges to reach higher ground and because of this capability, it gives the smaller ranged attacking units more sight. It has upgrades available to enhance its capabilities and these are;

  • Ground Weapons levels 1-3
  • Ground Armor levels 1-3
  • Plasma Shields levels 1-3
  • Extended Thermal Lance (this increases the breadth of the splash damage)

Each and every unit has its own weakness. No matter how strong it is, there will always be a disadvantage which the enemies can use against it. The colossus is weak against melee units. Its disadvantage is their large size and because of this, Zerglings and zealots get to attack Colossus easily and destroy it especially if micro skills are poor. You must always have anti-air units to be able to secure your Colossus. If you will not secure your Colossus, they will be the main target. Colossus have beam weapons that will be able to kill units in a linear splash as well as catching other units that is still in the production line before it is able to retreat. If you just know how to use these units, you can just sneak it up behind our enemy and use the cliff walk ability and use the Warp Prisms to be transported in any convenient location.

For you to be successful in every battle, you know the strengths of each unit you have and use these strengths to conquer your enemy. You can combine your strategies. You don’t have to stick with one strategy per game. You can use as many strategies as you can. These can also be useful when your first tactic does not work,then at least you still have more strategies in line for you to use. It is all in your hands. Mastery is the key. It will take a lot of experience for master but each game is a step closer to it. So do not rush things. Take one step at a time. Learn new strategies, be knowledgeable on the strengths of your units, be creative and have fun. Always remember, this is just a game and in every game, someone wins and someone loses.

Effective Use of Protoss Warp Prism – Starcraft 2 Warp Prism in PvP, PvT, PvZ

Protoss have been studying about the nature of time and even space for thousands of years. Through a lot of experiments and research, they have uncovered the secrets in the universe. Part of this, they have uncovered how to create a robotic mind that is programmed and built of a crystal lattice. This crystal-commanding-machine manipulates both matter and energy that no ordinary mind can comprehend.

One of the underused units of Protoss are the Warp Prisms. A lot of protoss players don’t utilize its great capability. You will know how useful Warp Prisms are and how to be able to use it effectively. Warp Prisms require 200 minerals for you to be able to produce one. It has the ability called the Phasing Mode which deploys the Warp Prisms into a Phase Mode and would generate a certain power radius that is similar to a Pylon. When Warp Prisms are in the Phase Mode, they are immobile. They also have the ability to unload and load units. These would transport a number of Protoss units to any location in the map. They can even transport large protoss units like the Colossus. Warp prisms have the following upgrades available for them to enhance their abilities:

Plasma Shield Upgrade – enhances the shields of all protoss units and structures or buildings.
Requires Twilight Council

  • level 1 requires 200 minerals and gas
  • level 2 requires 300 minerals and gas
  • level 3 requires 400 minerals and gas

Air Armor Upgrade – enhances the armors of all protoss air units.
Requires Fleet Beacon

  • level 1 requires 150 minerals and gas
  • level 2 requires 225 minerals and gas
  • level 3 requires 300 minerals

Gravitic Drive (increases the speed of warm prisms)
needs 100 minerals and gas

Warp prisms are very useful in base expansion, bringing all your troops and use the massive energy area to warp in from 10 gates. To use if effectively, you must have a main goal. You can plan in expanding your base and use warp prisms in transporting your units for faster expansion. Remember, expansion of base is also a factor in being able to improve both of your defensive and offensive capabilities. Another strategy that your warp prisms are very useful is when your base is under attack. You can actually use warp prisms to send back up units for reinforcement to your base that is under attack. Through this, it will surprise your enemy, thinking that you are losing your base, but not thinking that you can still fight back. If you have a total of 4 bases, you can actually send 80-90% of your units in all of your other bases at once. This is such a great way in surprising your enemy. Another thing is that once you have expanded your bases, you can use warp prisms as a support to your units and structures. It just needs a fast control in changing them into different phases, depending on what ability or skill would you like to use. Just a reminder, in sending out back up units to your other base, you have to leave enough units on your other expanded base to be able to protect it as well. You will never know when your enemy is sending its troops for it. It is always best to be ready at all times. Warp prism is a great unit of Protoss. You just have to know when and how to use it. For sure, you will be able to gain victory.

SC2 Protoss Mass Stalkers Strategy Exposed – Best Shokz Starcraft 2 Stalker Strategies Guide in PvT, PvP, PvZ

Stalkers are considered to be one of the greatest unit in the Protoss race. The strategy in using stalkers to harass your enemy needs, building the right units and structures at the right time. Let me give you more information on Stalkers. Stalkers are produced by Gateway and requires the Cybernetics Core. You will also need 125 Minerals and 50 Gas. It uses the Particle Disruptor Weapon that has a damage rate of 10 +5 to armored units, a range of 6 and has the capability in attacking both air and ground units. It has the following upgrades be able to boost their defenses and these are:

Shields 1-3(requires Twilight Council)

  • Level 1: – requires 200 minerals and gas
  • Level 2: requires 300 minerals and gas
  • Level 3: requires 400 minerals and gas

Ground Weapons (requires Twilight Council)

  • Level 1: requires 100 minerals and gas
  • Level 2: requires 175 minerals and gas
  • Level 3: requires 250 minerals and gas

Ground Armor (requires Twilight Council)

  • Level 1: requires 100 minerals and gas
  • Level 2:requires 175 minerals and gas
  • Level 3:requires 250 minerals and gas

When playing as Protoss, mostly uses Stalkers to be able to win the game quickly and easily. If you are playing against a Gold League or below, then it will be a good win for you with the Stalkers. This Stalker strategy is the most easy tactic that we can use. Even a starcraft 2 newbie player will be able to ace this.

All you need to do is to have as much Stalkers as you can. First you will need to build Probes until you reach 8/10 supplies. Then build a Pylon and then build more Probes. By using your Nexus, you will be able to use the Chrono Boost to be able to create more Probes. This is also another way for you to b able to save to be able to build a Gateway with 12/19 supplies. When you have your Gateway, just keep creating Probes as well. Do not forget to build Assimilators to harvest your gas. But, do not rush in building assimilators. Build them when you can already afford. Your first priority is to produce more Probes. As soon as your Gateway is done, automatically build a Cybernetics Core and one more Pylon. When you get to have three Probes gathering Gas on each receptor and 16 Probes gathering minerals, build an additional of 2 Gateways. When your Cybernetics Core is done, use Chrono Boost for your Stalkers. Then, start the Warp Gate technology research. Just keep producing Stalkers with our 3 Gateways and Pylons as needed. Then try to start scouting for your enemy. If by chance, he has lesser units, then you build a Templar Council and then research Blink. As soon as it finishes researching, you can start ambushing your opponent’s base. You should have around 18 to 24 Stalkers by now and use Blink that you just researched to be able to get pass on your enemy walls. By this, it will make it easier for you in ambushing your opponent’s base.

This is a strategy you can use at your own convenience. Just make sure you have back up plans just in case this strategy does not work for you on your game. Do not panic if the game is not turning out the way you wanted. Instead, keep building units and send them to your opponent’s base. Do not stop producing units til your opponent raises the white flag. Mastery of the game is the key to be able win. It will take time, experience, wins and losses to be able to reach mastery level. It might take awhile, but each game you play is a step closer to it.

Quick Protoss Void Ray Rush – Best Void Rays Strategies Guide

Void Rays are considered to be very annoying for Terran players. As you read along, you will find out why.

First thing first, let us know more about void rays. Void rays is considered to be one of the greatest unit for Protoss. It has the ability to move while attacking an opponent or even while it is moving closer to the enemy. You will first need a Stargate and around 250 minerals and 150 gas before you are able to produce a Void Ray. It uses the Prismatic Bean as its weapon which has a damage rate of 5 with an additional of 1 point per Air Weapon Upgrade. It is capable of attacking both on ground and in the air with a range of 6 at a fast speed. Speaking of upgrades, void rays have 4 upgrades available for them. First is the Flux Vanes. It is able to increase the speed of void rays by 1.125 to 3.375. Air weapon is another type of upgrade for void rays that increases their attack damage rate. It requires the Cybernetics Core and Fleat Beacon before it is accessible. You will also need 100 minerals and gas for the first upgrade, 175 for the second and 250 for the third upgrade. Next is line is the Air Armor upgrade wherein it increases the armor defense and would also require both Cybernetics core and Fleet beacon. 150 minerals and gas is needed for the first level upgrade, 225 on the second level and 300 on the third upgrade. Last but not the least, Plasma Shield Upgrade. It increases the defense rate for the shield being used by void rays. This would require the Forge and the Twilight Council. It also needs 200 minerals and gas for the first level upgrade, followed by 300 and 400 for the succeeding level upgrades.

In using Protoss Void Rays, you must know who is your opponent. From there, you will know how to go about your strategy. You can start with building Probes then as soon as you are down with the last 2 probes, start building your Pylon near your main base and build one zealot tower right beside it. While your zealot tower is still in progress, keep producing your probes. Then create an extractor. You should be able to have a total of 15 probes once your zealot tower finishes. Build your second pylon right beside your first one and then build your cybernetic core. Just a good to know, cybernetic core enables you to create your void rays. Once you have created your cybernetic core, research Air Weapon then build 2 more pylons and then stargate. While building these, do not forget to keep producing your probes until you will be able to gather enough resources to build your void rays. When you have attained this, build your first 5 or 6 Void rays and then expand your base. Send out 1 of your probe with 3 of your void rays to the new mining location. This must be the closes one to your main base. Then send out half of your probes to the new location and start mining. You should have at least 10 void rays and enough gas and minerals. Just keep building your void rays both on your main and second base. The main goal here is to be able to expand a few more to be able to keep building more void rays. Once you have gathered at least around 10 void rays, then start ambushing your opponent’s base. Keep building more rays and send them by batch until you earn your victory.

Starcraft 2 Protoss Zealot Rush Strategy – Shokz SC2 Strategies in PvT, PvP & PvZ

Talking about rush strategies, it is all about speed. It would not be called rush strategy if you are way too slow in building your tactic, right? The main goal here is to be able to build your base and units as quick as you can before your enemy spots your location and discovers what you are up to. Rush strategies can also be associated with surprise attacks, harassing, etc. whatever word or phrase you would associate it with, it would still give you the same objective.

Let us talk about Protoss and get to know a little more about them. They have always been known with their advanced technology. They consider their race as the most powerful specie. Each kind has their own advantages and disadvantages. For protoss, their advantages or strengths are warp prisms, photon cannons, plasma shields that has the ability to regenerate, Great motherships for defense, etc. On the other hand, Protoss have expensive units and buildings and takes a long time to produce or build a single unit. You will need to build your structures within the psionic matrix. Without the psionic matrix, the buildings would go offline and these buildings consumes Gas heavily.

So let us go back to our main topic, the Proxy Zealot Rush. This type of tactic needs to build a couple of Pylons and a number of Gateways outside your enemy’s base. The most important thing to remember is that this strategy would only be good for a 2 point map. So that you will know where your opponent’s base is. You can’t afford scouting with this type of strategy. When the game starts, automatically send out one Probe right outside of your opponent’s base. While this first Probe is on its way, get a new probe from your Nexus and set everyone in harvesting minerals. Always remember, this is a RUSH strategy. So everything must be in haste. As soon as your first probe reaches your opponent’s base, let it build a Pylon but make sure it is hidden and cannot be detected right away. Make sure to build your Pylon as close as you can to your opponent’s ramp. When you already have your pylon, build a Gateway and when you get to gather enough resources, construct your second Gateway. As soon as you have 2 Gateways, start producing your Zealots. For you to be able to produce your zealots faster, use your Chrono boost Ability. When you get to produce three Zealots, send all three into your opponent’s base. Make sure to destroy his buildings that are capable in producing units such as Spawning pools, tech labs, etc.

You can continue sending out zealots as much as you can while you try to destroy your opponent’s units one by one. So, the first part is the most critical moment that you have to work on hard. Make sure you will not be scouted when building your pylon right outside your opponent’s base. Another tip, do not leave your base unguarded. Always have a number of armed units in position just in case your opponent tries to attack you from behind. You can produce a number of units to guard your base as soon as you are ready to send out your Zealots.

Top SC2 Protoss Counter for Ultralisks – Shokz Starcraft 2 Strategies to Stop Zerg, Anti-Ultralisk Units in PvZ

The Zergs unlike Terrans and Protoss doesn’t use technology, instead to match their technology they assimilate other species and direct mutation. They are cheap and produce fast.

;

In the game we find a perfect counter for every unit.  This in real sense is more applicable for the Protoss. The Protoss which are very expensive and hence their choice of unit has to be taken extra care and therefore right unit has to be produced at the right time.

;

To deal with the Zerg Ultralisks the best Protoss counters are:

  • Immortal- We can call it the ‘best counter’ with the best DPS and best tank to fight against the Ultralisks. They provide us with great cost efficiency as they deal with 50 per attack by taking just 10 dmg.
  • Void Ray- One should bring a good number of Void Ray in army to fight against Ultralisk as they can’t be harmed. They cause a long range ground damage destroying the Ultralisks. A fully charged Void Ray destroys the Ultralisks within no time.
  • Mothership- They can destroy the whole army of the opponents while fighting against Ultralisks and vice versa.
  • Stalker- They cause heavy damage when in range and they drive the ultralisks crazy just by a blink and kill them. They are spread out to avoid the splash cleave damage.
  • Carrier- the flying killer, yes they fly and hurt the ultralisks and destroy them.
;

So like this we have got the best Protoss counter against every Zergs and that’s what makes improved form of the amazingly interesting StarCraft’s sequel ‘StarCraft 2’ even more interesting.

How To Best Counter Mutalisks with Protoss in SC2 – Shokz Starcraft 2 Strategies for Anti-Mutalisk in PvZ

The Mutalisk can be countered in a number of ways. Phoenix, stalker, Sentry’s guardian shield, high templar’s psionic storm and archon are the most common ways by which you can either counter or reduce the effect of the attack of the Mutalisks. But the most common way to combat the mutalisk that the protoss unit has at their hand is employing the phoenix.

;

The phoenix has the following advantages over the mutalisks which are the following

  1. They are faster than the Mutalisk.
  2. They have a range which is longer than the Mutalisk.
  3. The phoenix can do a damage of 20 in comparison to the damage that it suffers of only 9 per attack.
  4. The phoenix can fire while it is on the run with precision.
  5. The firing time between two rounds is also shorter when compared with that of the mutalisks.

Hence we can see that a properly made phoenix unit is no comparison as compared to a mutalisk unit and a very small number of phoenixes can successfully tackle a large army comprising of mutalisks.

;

Other protoss counters are protoss stalkers and protoss archon. The protoss archon is generally more powerful than the stalkers or the phoenix unit as they also own mutalisks when they are stacked but the only disadvantage that they have is that they lack quick mobility and are shorter in range as compared to the above units.

;

Generally it would take you some time in order to build phoenix units and in case if you don’t have the adequate number of phoenixes at hand then you can well make a unit comprising of the protoss stalkers in order to combat the mutalisks. With the blink upgrade, they do well against the mutalisks but require a little more skill of the player.

;

Hence there are a number of protoss counters against the mutalisk units and although they are very tough to combat, they are not quite invincible. With a little amount of expertise it is very easy to set up a unit to combat the mutalisks.

Best Counter Roaches with Protoss – How to Stop Roach Shokz Starcraft 2 Protoss Strategies

In StarCraft II, the roaches of zerg are very strong. They have the potency to damage severely. More so, they have also the unique capability to regenerate. The Queens produce large amount of larva in the initial stages of the game due to which Zerg Roaches pose a serious threat if not dealt deftly.

;

Firstly, the Zerg Roaches can regenerate in burrows. Roaches have a very high HP count of 145. It has also a high damage value. Primarily it is an armoured- class Zerg. The weak links of Roaches are that, they are slow while in motion. They have a very short range and are unable to attack air units. Though the roaches are not that intimidating at first sight yet they are at times deceptive and can deal heavy blows to your plans. In order to counter a Roach rush a Cybernetics Core must be created along with a Gateway, cannon and Pylon close to your entrance or choke-point.

;

There must be just enough space to allow a couple of units of Stalkers and Sentries to block the passage in the wall. If while scouting you discover that Zergs are making Roaches then the idea of building Zealots should be discarded straight away, since Zealots turn out to be the weak links during direct confrontation with the Roaches. Immortals are most effective while dealing Roaches. They can be positioned behind the stalkers and shoot over them. The Immortals serve as an effective counter foil for the Zerg Roaches since they can deal with a good handful of Roaches and finish them off with minimal fuss.

;

During the Roach Rush, force field ability of the sentries can be used to block the passage of the base. Stalkers can attack the Roaches from behind the Force Field and kill them without much difficulty. It is vital to install some Robotic facilities during the passive phase and create some Immortals. Immortals deal with the Roaches most efficiently. They can induce large amount of bonus damage on the Zerg Roaches, since it can kill a Roach in just two shots. A few Immortals, Sentries and Stalkers can be a winning formula in this setup. At times getting an observer is a good thought since during these strategies it is better to know what units you may face up against from beforehand.

Effective SC2 Protoss Counter vs Infestors – Best Shokz Starcraft 2 Strategies Guide on How to Stop Infestor

The main theme of the award-winning game is the battle of survival among three major races. They are the Zergs, the terrans and the Protoss. The aim of the Protoss is to safeguard their civilisation and preserve their quality of living from the invasion of the Zergs, who expand their stronghold by casting worthier races like terrans and Protoss into their own group. Throughout the game we use real time strategy to shatter our opponents to the ground by eliminating all their buildings. To gain strategic mastery over the Zerg opponent, the protoss players first need to be well aware of Zerg units and their best counters.

;

In StarCraft2, Zerg Infestors are medium-sized, biological units with normal speed and possess the ability to move while burrowed unlike most other units of the zerg race. They are also known for some other special Psionic abilities as discussed under:

;

Infested Terrans: It can be directly spawned at the target area and it lasts for 20 seconds.

;

Neural Parasite: Probably the most dangerous of all Zerg infestors’ special abilities, this can take control of the enemy unit’s mind for about a span of 10 seconds. But it has to channelize this ability as the infestor cannot involve in any other action while it is controlling this unit.

;

Burrow: Can conceal itself in a burrow and capable of moving underground in this condition.

;

Fungal Growth: In the target area this causes immobilisation of other units thus inflicting a damage of 36 points over 8 seconds on them. Units under the covers of cloaks and burrows get revealed by fungal growth attack for a short time.

;

A list of all the best combat units against Zerg Infestors goes below:

;

HIGH TEMPLAR: There is a good scope of killing down the opponents instantly without giving them a chance to cast anything, so we need to respond to these immediately.

;

IMMORTAL: These bring down each of them in 3 hits, thus is a very important unit in the battlefield.

;

OBSERVER: These creatures prefer to hide and crawl below the earth. We got to detect and bring them down before they get to cast any other thing.

;

In this game the judicious choice of combat units is very crucial, for the Protoss units are quite expensive and choice of just the right set of combat units at the right moment gives us an advantage over the opponents for sure. There is always a best counter for every Zerg infestor unit but not every situation can be handled in the same way. Sometimes there occurs stagnancy from strategic point of view to the application of the best counter. In such cases we have to immediately come up with our 2nd or 3rd best units as the situation at hand calls for.
