Best Counter Motherships using Zerg – Shokz SC2 Strategies How to Stop Mothership with Zerg
The Mothership is a battleship that may receive a lot of superlatives: toughest, most intimidating with its gigantic size, and the epitome of a battle unit. Its Khaydarin crystal imbued with psionic sufficient to maim time and space, and thereby annihilate enemy ships, and even the entire battlefield. Further below you will find the zerg units to counter motherships.
Two of mothership’s amazing abilities include the Mass Recall, which allows the Protoss player to teleport his battle ships into the mothership, and the Vortex, which enables the Protoss player to suck in Zerg units from the battlefield—and send them into a black hole—for a while. The Vortex is effective when the Protoss players wants to send his enemy’s troops into confusion and disarray. The Mass Recall is very useful when there are Protoss battleships that need healing.
However, as opposed to what many have perceived, the mothership is not really a melee battle unit. Its abilities are superb, yes; nevertheless, they are rather low for an offense. Thus, a mothership is good only as a support unit.
When not transporting battle units to destroy your own, a Mothership can use its Cloak to render buildings, structures and enemy units invisible. This can be a disadvantage on your part because you may never know what the Protoss player is preparing for you.
On the bright side, you have chances of countering the Mothership. You will use 2 or 3 of your Queens for a few reasons. First, you will have to take advantage of her Ensnare ability, the Fungal Growth to unmask the Mothership and everything underneath its cloak. The Fungal Growth will also immobilize the enemy troops while dealing 36 damages over 8 seconds.
Second, you may also be tempted to use the Neural Parasite of the Queen to control the minds of your enemies. This is not permanent; nor does it last long. But, the duration is enough for you to mobilize your troops and deal huge damage on the Mothership and surrounding battleships.
Third, the Queen makes a good air-unit assaulter against the enemies. And if sometime in the game, some of your battleships need healing, they can count on your Queen.
Fourth, the Queen’s Creep tumor can block off the enemy’s expansion, should there be any. Likewise, it strengthens your Zerglings. Now, besides the Zerglings, you should also spawn Corruptors because these Zerg creatures are powerful against the Mothership.
Then, all along, your Hydralisks should have been built—in enormous numbers—and upgraded on their Grooved Spines. They should work together with your mass Zerglings. The Mothership should also be flooded with Mutalisks. So, Corruptors, Hydraliks and Mutalisks should work wonders against the Mothership and melee units like the Collosus and Immortals which might have been prepared to be transported into your battleground.
Now, if the Protoss player is staging higher-tier or expensive units, they should all be infested with Neural Parasite to momentarily control their minds, and thereby, dealing fatal blow into the enemy’s units.
